Ans: This special sense of smell of dogs is used by humans in the following ways:
a) For catching criminals
b) For detecting undesirable things or bombs

Ans: Our sense of smell can be helpful to avoid accidents in case of gas leak, burning wires etc.

Ans: An owl has eyes in front of its head (like in humans).

Ans: Poaching and illegal hunting are the biggest threats for tigers which can even cause the extinction of this animal. Besides this deforestation is causing tigers to lose their natural home and making their survival tough.

Ans: Yes, human beings can also be a threat to animals. Human beings kill animals for hide and other body parts. Also forests are being destroyed to develop industries and build homes due to which the natural habitat of animals is reduced.

11. Have you noticed that sometimes singers put their hand on their ear when they sing? Why do you think they may be doing this?

Ans: Yes, I have noticed that singers sometimes put their hand on their ear while singing. They do this to listen to their own voice and have control on it.

12. Give examples of animals that may have a very strong sense of sight, hearing or smell.

Ans: 

Animals with a strong sense of sight: Eagle, Vulture, Hawk
Animals with a strong sense of hearing: Elephant, Monkeys, Tiger
